Pantone mugs are back!!! Brand new 2010 colors just in time for spring @ Vertigo Home.

Designers across the globe have relied on PANTONE Color standards for inspiration and specification for years, now anyone can be privy to the color codes of these professionals when enjoying a perfect cup of coffee or tea. Designed by Whitbread Wilkinson (W2), the ceramic mugs are adorned with the iconic PANTONE® Chip design and PANTONE Color number, they will add a burst of color to any kitchen or office space.

Also available are the fine china mugs using Ray Eames’ beautiful “small dot” textile design to decorate it.
As one half of one of the most important design collaborations of the 20th Century, Ray had an interest in contemporary and traditional folk art and had a keen sense of shape, color, pattern, texture, structure and proportion.
Ray designed covers for Art and Architecture magazine in the early 1940’s that indicated her engagement with avant-garde art and design.
Her textile designs still evoke “a jaunty and refreshing playfulness”.

For Eames fans this mug is a must.

Whitbread Wilkinson – W2 Products Ltd was launched in 2000, initially comprising of Jackie Piper Wilkinson and Victoria Whitbread, a partnership dedicated to innovative design and creative solutions. The W2 brand was established with the ethic that all products should have a purpose – that old adage ‘Form follows function’ is the W2 mantra.

Prior to launching W2, they jointly notched up 15 years in the design industry, boasting commissions and working for employers such as Matteo Thun, Panasonic, Polaroid, Habitat and Geoff Hollington, to name a few. Work has included furniture design, lighting and interiors. Besides building their own brand, Jackie, Victoria and their team have worked on design commissions for businesses large and small – such as the Bathstore and Sainsbury’s, London Underground, Muji and English Heritage. Their most recent success is their current license with Pantone, where they have created an exciting range of giftware which now sells globally.
